Carrie is a leader & community builder

Carrie Ingersoll-Wood

Economic Development, Sustainability, & Accessibility

A little bit about me My family and I moved to Central New York in 2015, and we immediately fell in love with the natural beauty of the region and each community’s historical pride, uniquely bound to its Syracuse identity. From Green Lakes State Park’s glacial meromictic lakes to Onondaga County Park trails that weave through forests to breathtaking waterfalls, Central New York has it all. I am proud to call the Town of Manlius my home.

Why am I running for County Legislator? I am fairly new to politics, but I have a long history of working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and I have seen firsthand the good that can be accomplished with compromise—something sorely lacking in the current Republican-led Onondaga County Legislature. I am a community builder; I have the ability to be a better bi-partisan representative for District 10. Onondaga County is on the verge of historical change. As a legislator, I will lead our district with positive energy and embrace the will of constituents by holding Town Halls. Because ultimately, our district’s success makes a difference in the development of Onondaga County and the City of Syracuse: We rise and fall together!

Did you know? The Town of Manlius is the third largest suburb in Metropolitan Syracuse. The Town includes the villages of Fayetteville, Manlius, and Minoa. The first Certified Bronze Climate Smart Community in Onondaga County, the Town of Manlius is truly a leader in sustainability. The Town’s Climate Action Plan is available as a resource to neighboring communities in the greater Central New York region. The Town’s Comprehensive Plan clearly defines our community’s vision and values and establishes goals and policies with a framework for future public and private investment and development within the Town.
